What is a podcast?
The word podcast originated in 2004 and is actually a combination of two words: iPod and Broadcast. You take the pod of iPod and add the cast of broadcast and you get podcast. A podcast is like a radio program, but a radio program is usually broadcasted live. A podcast is recorded, usually as a downloadable Mp3 file. You can download a podcast and listen to it on your computer or mobile device like a smartphone or tablet. When you subscribe to a podcast, you can receive each Mp3 file automatically and as soon as it is published. Subscribing to a podcast is a convenient way to make sure you don’t miss any episodes! And…the Happy English podcast is FREE!
