Are you saying this word naturally?
A lot of English learners say it exactly as it’s written, but here’s how to make it sound more American.
In everyday, conversational American English, we usually say: AHM
We don’t usually say: I’M It’s AHM
There’s just 1 syllable: AHM
AHM is a lot smoother than I’M because your throat is open and your mouth is more relaxed
- I’m ready → AHM ready
- I’m hungry → AHM hungry
- I’m thinking about it → AHM thinking about it
- I’m wondering why → AHM wondering why
Let’s practice together. I’ll say blue. You say green. Ready?
- I’m ready → AHM ready
