We say: WəRK.
It’s not: Walk.
It’s WəRK

They’re different words, and different sounds
For work, your lips are slightly rounded, like this… and your tongue pulls back for the American R sound.WəRK
Just one syllable: WəRK
* Work.
* I have to work today.
* She works from home.
* I’m busy at work.
