Don’t say, “I’m exciting.”
A lot of English learners make this mistake, but it’s easy to fix. And changing one small thing will make your English sound more natural.
In English, things and situations are exciting.
* I have some exciting news!
* There’s an exciting new rollercoaster at the amusement park.
* Have you ever gone skydiving? It’s so exciting!
On the other hand excited is an emotion. Excited is a feeling.
* I was excited when I heard the news.
* We were excited when we rode that roller coaster.
* I’m going skydiving next weekend. I feel nervous, but totally excited.
So don’t say: “I’m exciting.”
✅ Instead, say: “I’m excited.” Excited describes how someone feels
Try writing your own sentence with excited and exciting in the comments.
Thanks for watching, and until next time, keep learning and keep it cool.
