BETTER Pronunciation – The Flap T In American English

MichaelADAmerican English Pronunciation

🤔 BETTER
Are you saying this word wrong?
A lot of English learners make this mistake, but it’s easy to fix.
In American English, we say: BEH-der.
The T sound is reduced to a weak D sound: BEH-der
It’s not: BEH-TER.  It’s BEH-der
The first syllable is stressed: BEH-der

That’s much smoother:  BEH-der
* I like this BEH-der
* She has a BEH-der idea
* Your English is getting BEH-der

Let’s practice. I’ll say blue. You say green.
* BEH-der
* I like this BEH-der
* She has a BEH-der idea
* Your English is getting BEH-der

That’s so much BEH-der, right?
