🤔 GIRL
Are you saying this word wrong?
A lot of English learners make this mistake, but it’s easy to fix.
We say: GəRL.
It’s not: Gee-rəl.
It’s GəRL.
There is just one syllable: GəRL.
For the American R sound, your tongue pulls back. Then, finish with the L sound by touching your tongue behind your top teeth: GəRL.
* Girl.
* She’s a nice GəRL.
* That GəRL is my friend.
* They have a baby GəRL.
Let’s practice. I’ll say blue. You say green.
* GəRL.
* She’s a nice GəRL.
* That GəRL is my friend.
* They have a baby GəRL.
How about you? Write your example with girl in the comments.
