How do I use the present simple tense?
The present simple is used to talk about routines, habits, and facts.
The present simple tense is used to describe actions that are regular, routine, or true in general. It is often used to talk about habits, routines, schedules, and facts that are true all the time. This tense is formed with the base form of the verb for most subjects, and for third-person singular subjects (he, she, it), you add -s or -es to the base form of the verb.
- I drink a cup of green tea every morning.
- Katie teaches English at a university.
- It snows a lot in New York in the wintertime.
Keep in mind the best way to remember this or any grammar / vocabulary in English is to take the word or phrase, write it in a sentence that’s true for you or true in your world, and then memorize your sentences.
You can even take your sentences and write them in the comments below. I would love to see your examples.
