Catch some Z’s means to get some sleep. We use this idiom to suggest the need for rest or sleep.

Here are some examples using catch some Z’s:

  • Lisa decided to go home early and catch some Z’s after a long day at work.
  • Mark knew he had an important meeting the next day, so he made sure to catch some Z’s to be well-rested.
  • Emily couldn’t fall asleep easily, so she listened to soothing music to help her catch some Z’s.

Keep in mind the best way to remember this or any vocabulary in English is to take the word or phrase write it in a sentence that’s true for you or true in your world and then memorize your sentences.
