He scheduled a meeting with Bob for today!

When you want to talk about the day that you made plans for an event, you can use on with arrange and schedule:

  • I arranged the meeting on August 31stThis is the day that I planned the meeting, not the meeting day.
  • I scheduled the classes on August 31stThis is the day that I made the class schedule, not the day classes will be held.

When you want to talk about the day that an event will be held, you can use for with arrange and schedule:

  • I arranged the meeting for September 21stThis is the day that the meeting will be held.
  • I scheduled the classes for September 21stThis is the day that the classes will be held.
