Here’s some important news from the study abroad industry. The market leading provider of English language courses, Kaplan International Colleges, has gotten enough votes from fellow professionals in the language travel industry to be shortlisted for awards in two categories in Study Travel Magazine’s 2012 Star Awards for International Education.
The Star Awards are held each year to recognize quality and excellence in international language schools, courses, and services. The nominees are voted on by professionals working in the industry. This year, Kaplan has been nominated in two categories; the Star Chain School and Star Junior Course for students under the age of 18.
Kaplan is no stranger to the Star Chain School category. However, according to a spokesman for the colleges, this is the first time that they have been nominated for the Star Junior Course for under-18s award. Kaplan’s EMEA Sales Director, Gerard Wilson, said that Kaplan is “delighted to be nominated” for the 2012 STAR awards in these two categories. Mr. Wilson went on to thank all of their “agents, host families, teachers, sales teams and staff” for their efforts in making these nominations possible.
The nominating period happened between March and May of this year and the winners will be announced in London on September 1st at the 2012 Star Awards ceremony which will take place in during the ALPHE UK Conference, the meeting place for the world’s national advisor and school associations. If you are attending this year’s ALPHE workshops, you can meet representatives from Kaplan at both the conference and the gala dinner, held at the Hilton on Park Lane Hotel in London.
