Do you want your children to learn how to speak English? Here is some exciting news for children aged 3 and above. Kaplan International Colleges, a market leading provider of English courses, has joined forces with Picaro to develop a new English learning app available on the iPad and iPhone. It’s called ‘Picaro Play,’ and is a free interactive storybook app that features spelling and word activities that can help children become familiar with many common English words.
Children can learn about weather, clothing and colors as they follow the rhyming story of two characters, Kim and Peter Picaroon, who go out to play in the rain. This interactive app gives children the opportunity to get involved in spelling and word games, where they must drag and drop the letters of the Picaroons’ names, and splash in puddles as they spell out new words.
‘Picaro Play’ is ideal for both for children learning English as a second language as well as young children beginning to learn to read and spell as the app helps them to recognize new words and letters. According to a spokesperson at Picaro, their aim was to create something that was fun, educational, and accessible to everyone. Picaro helps young children (ages 4~9) learn English and also prepare for Cambridge ESOL Young Learners Examinations (YLE).
I think kids would love to spend time with ‘Picaro Play.’ Why not check it out at the iTunes store today!
