15 – Long Winded – English Idiom Lesson

Michael Idioms Leave a Comment

Today in NY there are high winds up to 50MPH (80KPH) and the wind reminded me of this idiom.

Long winded refers to the way someone speaks, and it means that they speak “too much and for too long” Politicians, some company CEO’s, and teachers do this….(not me of course!)

-The company president is known for his long winded speeches. He is very long winded.
-I don’t need a long winded… explanation. Just give me the facts.

Do you know someone who is long winded?
