Unlike the winter in New York this year’s winter in Russia was extremly warm. I like playing hockey and cross-country skiing, but this year it was almost impossible because of the warm weather.
I find it very difficult to understand when the narrator announce the weather forecast in a news release. Michael could you tell me please how I can improve my understanding.
Vladimir, Good question. Try listening to a variety of English to improve your skills. TV programs like Friends are good for this.

The winter was so cold and so long!
I like winter because we can put some blouses, sweaters or jackets (clothes) on and get warm, but on summer we wear light clothes, take cold showers but we are still hot and sweating.

Even though in my country there isn´t season, spring is my favory season; but in my country I prefer the raining season…
